The data is in 2’s complement. Doesn’t that answer the question? The 16th bit will c8051f0600 used for the sign bit. After setting the bit, you can use 16bit address as an input.

How am I supposed to write to an address within the scratchpad memory when the input to the write function is of type UINT, which means I can only go as high as 0xFFFF, range from 0 to ? What would I have to do to “decode” the linear address to satasheet the device address, as the function description implies?

So I think the 16th bit will be used as the sign bit. Thank you for your help. We cant measure negative voltage in single ended mode.
I will now try with what Eric says using the debugger. I went through the manual, it says in the differential mode it will work as 15 bit ADC. In both cases, a 1 in the “sign” bit indicates a negative number – but the way that works with the other 15 bits is different What more do you want?
